What should i do if im playing with 3 other players one occuping some of

north america and all of south america and the other owning a little of

asia, north america and all of australia and i have an option africa and

europe but i dont want either should i start off and try to take one of

theirs by attacking them at the very beggining (if so what piece of land

would i want to take) or get europe or africa. I would apreciat an answer

for both senarios but would prefer an answer to what land i would whant to

take in the beggingin and why and if not why and what country i should take

that i can get without fighting? Thank you very much

I always take Europe in the first couple of turns in the beggining of the

game. So I would have to say that under the circumstances you should take

Europe first then move into Africa. After the you have the most power in

the game almost. The you should take a couple of countries in Asia

preventing someone from taking the entire continent, but should concentrate

most on North America. Once you have both North America and Europe the game

is yours.

You could also try Europe and africa. Africa after europe (instead of N. America) is good because you dont have to spend your armies aggressively competing with another player over a continent they desperately want. Instead you slowly grow out of their way and let them focus on their own. In the end you would always get more than them in terms of bonus, so it may just work on its own.

Africa and Europe are both good continets. I think i depends on who is stronger and who you want to take out first.

Always go through Africa, Europe is harder to contain. I like to go to middle east and ukraine..they are my favorite contries in Risk.

The Earth is round! You may feel that Europe is in the middle, but based on your division (third for each) everyone is able to attack everyone else.
You have spotted the main problem quite well. The problem is that if you only think on where you want to place your armies, so that you can win the game, then you have only done half the job. Risk is not like Chess, and so there is no perfect openning or perfect moves.

What you need to do is to practice on the political side. I suppose you have already played with your friends. This is a great situation to be in. Because you know who you are playing against. This time try to adjust your game based on what they did last time. For example, try to drum up support to attack the guy who won last time, may be he is a strong player. Take him out of the game, and you may have a better chance to win. Of course you need to get other people's help, dont try to do all the fighting yourself. If you see yourself in the middle of others, then get others to fight each other. In short, try to use diplomacy ......

I would go for Europe rather than Africa, for the following reasons:
A) Europe gives a continent bonus of 5, rather than 3
B) You won't be under any threat, as there is no strong power force coming from Western Asia or North America (you said North America was being fought over, so you should be fine there. I wasn't 100% sure about what was going on in Asia, though)
C) If you choose Africa, you will be under attack from South America, which has been captured and secured (as you said)
