I am Black In RiskII.  In an 8 player game so i cannot use Risk mapeditor. I play cards set value.

I setteled in SA.

Red in Africa.

Blue in Aussie.

Purple and Grey in NA.(Grey was a bit annoying to me)

Orange, greenAnd yellow were undecided in Asia.

Me, red and blue established ourselves. Orange was making a move for europe while grey was eliminated by Purple.(Serves him right) I managed to stop both Purple and red. Blue was building up forces while yellow and green were slugging it out. icould not take so much attack from 3 sides(remember orange) so i formed an alliance with orange while he made a boom for green(he was gonna eliminate yellow) and purple. yellow made a come back, eliminated green and weakend blue.

Current position:

I in SA

Red fighting me for africa.

Blue fighting yellow for asia

Purple fighting orange for NA.

Orange rubbing his hands with glee in europe. He has 5cards.

Yellow took a few territories in NA for strength against blue.

I cashed my cards and eliminated orange(it was a risk. i could eliminate red but he only has 1 card.) Purple got SA. Yellow took his territories in europe.Blue fought yellow in europe.(note:myblunder: iwas very weak.) Red got africa. i cashed my cards twice and eliminate red, then i got territories in asia. Purple block mein africa then got NA. yellow got me back. icashe my cards and got blue the weakest.i got back Europe and SA. i blocke NA.

I in SA,Africa,Europe&Aussie.

Purple&Yellow preserving troops.

i got purple and yellow.

Glad to see you managed to win in the end. So what do you think was your breakthrough. Was it your alliance with orange. Later you eliminated Orange, how did he/she feel about it having been allied to you. Was it a computer game player, or was it with against people?

It was a computer player, but in my account I think if i betray a computer player, the computers are harsher to you. I just create a new account.

Ah, i thought so. That makes sense now.

Betraying computer players is Ok as long as you can take the risk that their descendants will not come back to hunt you down.

I put a account called anonymus. Or Anonymus2 or anonymus3... So there is 1 in 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 chance they will come back to hunt me down! I like math.

That seems a bit ridiculous. You are playing a game that is rigged in your favor. So as in Game Theory, you always get to be the guy who plays only once and can backstab people and not feel the consequences. That isn't real and it isn't real strategy. Well, I guess it illustrates what happens under those conditions and what strategy you can use then, but what would you do if you couldn't behave that way knowing that betrayal will haunt you down the line? What strategy would you use then?

Well, as I look back I would have lost, because other computer players will kill Orange. Even though I lost, it is better than ruining a relationship.

It certainly is better than ruining a relationship. But I think you dodged the question, what strategy would you use if you couldn't hide behind an anonymous front?

Perhaps you can try using the Risk Map editor for the second phase of the game you outlined above. It seems there are only 6 players left in the game at that point and seeing it visually would be very helpful; this eems like a very interesting scenario and I would love to look at it more in depth. Thanks,

To Europa: That means that Purple would have to be green. And Orange would have to be brown.

Ok, so be it. Just explain that in your post when you put the scenario up and we'll be able to figure it out. I have had to change the colors somewhat in my seven player game in the Thanksgiving scenario I posted. We had two colors that the Map editor can't use: Grey and Purple but I was able to make it work. Give it a shot, see what you come up with. I bet once you try to try to visualize it and post the map, you will be able to see the game in a whole new way.

Sam, are you having problems inserting a Risk map you have made. Your previous message is linking to an invalid image.

This should work.  If my green had 1 troop per territory he has, he should have 3.
