Hi am George and I have a game of Risk coming up in 1 weeks time with my mates.
And I need to make a decision to have an alliance with my mates or to be Indenpendent.
One of my mates has decided to not have a alliance with anyone He is the better one at Risk out of all of us. Then there is my other mates which have the same skill as me and they have an alliance between them two.
So should I join there Alliance or be Independent like my other mate
Please send my your replys on this.

hmm. do you know what continents they usually go for or are planning to go for. and what about you. if you go it alone i would suggest the Australian build up strategy. or if you aly then maybe Europe would be good. it all depends where everyone else is setting up their empires as well.

It all depends on what you two continent you guys get. If you are far away from him, forget it, try to close off one of your boarders from an enemy. If you just go around making alliances with your mates, then you shall fall quickly down the deep and dark pit of defent.

Never make full out ALLIANCES. But pacts of non-aggression between borders with specific terms can be quite beneficial to you. Just make sure they slightly more beneficial to you than to person you are dealing with. Also, against a more exp. player, do not straight out form an alliance against him, but signal to the other player it would be beneficial to you both to do a quick strike at the enemy, perhaps disrupting his continents. Also dont make an alliance WITH the more skilled player as chances are after you two have eliminated the competion, he will kill you. Unless you feel you will undoubtedly get last place an allying with him is your only path

Nobody, no matter how good, can win against two players working together. It is not probable, and you should try to join the current alliance until the lone player is eliminated. While in the alliance, make a few attacks to make it look like you are involved, but mostly focus on building up a new army.

Why? because when that lone player is destroyed guess who is next up on the chopping block: YOU. The second you have a chance to cripple ONE of the players DO IT. Then, convince the other one, preferably weaker, to align with you and erode the stronger players armies. If they give you the cold shoulder, focus completely on their destruction, sending a message to the other player.

After rigorously bludgeoning this player, offer a ceasefire in favor of your previous plans. If he continues to decline, go out in style with an all out blitz on his main continent. As the old saying goes, "It is better to live one day as a tiger then a thousand years as a lamb."

Chances are you will be able to trade in your cards before they can completely destroy you, which will allow you to take South America and build up sufficient defenses to repel them. If this succeeds, and they grow weary of fighting you, use the art of conversation and turn them on eachother.

If all else fails, throw yourself against the largest army on the board and when you lose, offer to surrender your forces and let them battle it out with your territories remaining neutral. You will leave a bad taste in their mouths, keeping them from fully enjoying their victory.

If, however, you wish to go out with honour, you can wait for them to eliminate you themselves. I guarantee they will never forget this and you will always have Risk Partners.

It all depends upon your personality. You can choose to be a thorn in someones side, a super-power, or a gracious loser who has a greater chance next time.

ally with EVERYONE POSSIBLE, except one. then you can focus your troops on someone. alliances are critical to the game, and if you don't make alliances with people, you may end up as the one who everyone teams up against and destroyed. no one, not even the best risk players, can take on five people at once.

This is a sound advice, but it is not that easy to carry out, specially in online games. People tend to distrust each other more when online and so you need to balance your strategy so that you can get everyone to go against another player even if you couldn't get everyone else to become your ally.
