Hi again, everyone!I haven't posted any article here long time. That's really sorry.Because it seems like almost no players visit this website now,I lose all the motive to create a new article. However,I still want everyone remember the strategic article that I wrote.Hence,I decide to generalize all of my written articles here.Hope that everyone can spare some time to watch(or re-watch) my posts. Here are my written articles at the past:

1.Talk about calculation

Risk,is the game mixed of skill and luck. But skill is a more important factor that make you win the game.In my view of the percentage of importance, skill have 70% and luck only have 30%.To owning the great skill, you must learn about calculation. That's why calculation is so important.

2.Learn strategy from ZiZhi TongJian(The Chinese Book)

This article is composed of some stories about strategy and diplomacy of Zizhi Tongjian. After you read through it,I assure that you can enhance your playing skills greatly. And you would know that strategy is so flexible like the unseenable weather.

3.How to 'nail' your opponent?

In Risk,'balance of power' is vital to gain the victory. Thus, you can perform the 'nail' tactic well, then you can keep the 'balance of power' easily.

4.The relations between the geographic location and strategy(Classic Map)

In Risk, the different continents have various advantage and disadvantage. If we can realize these things. Then we can set up our strategy that benefit us most.

5.The skill of negotiation

Negotiation is actually the art of communication between the people. If you can "seize your opponents' mind",induce him to listen to you, then your negotiation will be surely the successful one.

=== Conclusion ===

In fact, you would probably find that my strategic view is controversial in these articles.Indeed, after I had played longer time,I had some different view of strategy. So don't be surprised when you discover such indifference.

Also,I want to thank Ehsan Hosary who is the host of this webstie always give me replies and encourage me to writing articles. His strategy articles and instruction to me really help me a lot(Though filled with theory). He is always to be the loyalist reader of my posts. And I thank the other readers who ever read my articles, too

Alan, I always enjoy reading your articles. So you have a fan there. :-)

I think it's the effect of summer that most people go on holidays and don't play Risk as much. Everyone should be back by October. So hang on there.

Thanks Alan for your great article again. I am intrigued about ZiZhi TongJian. Can you tell us more about it. Have you read the book. As you know I have always been interested in Sun Tzu, and the lesson we can learn from him. There are many followers of Sun Tzu in history who have extending his teachings. What is your take on ZiZhi TongJian and what is the essence of it?

Thanks for your praise,Ehsan Hosary!Though Zizhi TongJian isn't famous enough if compare with Sun Tze,it's still a masterpiece.

Zizhi Tongjian is actually the historical book written by the Chinese historian Sima Guang, who was bornt in the Song Dynasty(960-1279).He wrote this book not only because he was so enthusiastic for history, but also want to advise the emperor to absorping the lessons from the past. Thus, this book is also called 'the emperor's book".Its content is mainly composed of politics and military from the Warring Period(from BC 403,but one event he write is exceptional since it is in BC 453) to the late Five Dynasty Period(about year 960+) of China.

Therefore,it's a useful source of learning strategy. That's why I take some stories of them to posting here. But lamentably,it seems like no english version can be founded. If you want to know more stories of Zizhi TongJian,I can consider to post the new episode!

Thanks Alan. Seems quite fascinating. I am realy curious to read the stories now, so of course if you can post them, that will be great. Do you have a Chinese version? As always borrowing from history is a great way to expand on subjects.

I am in the process of researching 'deception' in Risk. There is the tactical side as well as the diplomatical side. Are there any interesting stories on depetive diplomay in this book that can help us in Risk? Or perhaps from other sources you know of?
